A Force Sensitive with a Doll

In the "12 Years" that the doctor is away from Amy Pond, he ends up in another galaxy, far, far away.

Prologue
It was many years ago when I first met him. He appeared out of thin air, him and his blue box. I was only six years old at the time. I would have never been able to guess that he would change my life so much, or change me. That man, that insane, wonderful and utterly mad man. That madman with a box. A box that could travel through time and space itself. Or at least, so he claimed. I wouldn't learn that he was in fact telling the truth until later in life. But there is a time for everything, and a reason for everything, a very important lesson I would come to learn from my time with him.

42 BBY       First meeting

Father had sent me and Darth Maul to Endor while he visited with the Jedi. He didn't want them to sense me and take me away. It was late at night when he came. I was supposed to be asleep, I should have been since the sun set, about 3 hours ago. I was instead looking out the window of my room in the hut. The stars were bright here, not at all like the ones I sometimes saw at home. There were no lights from buildings to interfere, nothing but the stars. I clutched my stuffed doll tightly in my hand.

Father had given it to me for my second birthday; it was a stuffed Lethan Twi'lek. I always carried it with me; Dia was my only real friend. I sighed in slight boredom. I had tried to go to bed, really I had. But I just couldn't, for some reason the Force kept telling me to stay awake, just a little bit longer. I yawned and closed my eyes, but opened them when I heard the strangest noise I had ever heard.

It sounded almost like a mechanical heartbeat, but what appeared from the noise was nothing like what I could have expected. Slowly a blue box materialized, it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. There were some words near the top, which I couldn't read, two windows below the words, and a sign below one of the windows. On the top of the box was a flashing blue light. I couldn't help myself and ran outside.

I stopped a few feet from it and looked at the box in awe. A door started to open and I froze. Instead of another species, like I expected, out stepped a man who looked like a normal human. Well except for the way he was dressed, that itself was almost at weird as the box.

I blinked at him and he looked at me. "Hello there." He said, his voice had peculiar accent. "Hi." I replied timidly. "Where am I exactly?" He asked, looking around. "The forest moon of Endor. But everyone just calls it Endor." "Huh, I don't think I've ever been here before." He shrugged. "Who are you?" I asked.

"Me? Well I'm the Doctor." "The Doctor? Doctor Who?" He smiled "exactly. And who might you be?" "I'm Scarlet." "Well Scarlet, would you like to see something amazing?" I looked at him confused. "Like what?" "Like the inside of a time machine perhaps?" "That box is a time machine?" I asked in disbelief. "It is. Would you like to go inside?" he asked with a smile. "We'll barely fit." I said. He gave me a knowing smirk. "I think we'll be fine."

He gestured towards the door and I looked at him, trying to decide if I could trust him. He seemed to know that I was hesitant and said "Don't worry. You can trust me. I won't do anything to hurt you, ever." I gulped and nodded, carefully pushing the door open. I stepped inside the box and gasped, my eyes widening. I didn't even feel him come in and walk past me. "It's, It's" I struggled to find the right words, I was too stunned. "Bigger on the inside?" He finished with a smile. I nodded, my mouth agape.

It looked more advanced than any starship I had ever seen in my life. There was a staircase leading up to the control panel. And the control panel, it had more buttons and switches and levers than you could imagine. He jumped up the stairs and turned around to face me, arms open wide. "Welcome to the TARDIS."

I smiled and then looked at him confused "TARDIS? What's that mean?" "TARDIS, Time and relative dimensions in space. It's a time machine that can travel anywhere in the universe." He explained with a smile. I walked up towards the control panel and said "So this is your starship? Wow." I looked around; there were four more staircases, one next to the door, two small ones on the other side of the platform we were on, one leading down and another going from the platform up.

"Yes, indeed it is." He crouched down so he was at my level and said "Now then, care for a tour?"  I nodded and took his hand that he held out. He then led me up one of the staircases.

He had just finished showing me the swimming pool when I sensed Darth Maul waking up. I stopped and turned around, running back towards the door. "Wait where are you going?" He asked, running after me. "Goodbye Doctor, get out of here quickly before he sees you! And thank you!" I sped up, leaving him behind. I wouldn't let Darth Maul hurt my new friend.

Scarlet suddenly turned and ran away "Wait where are you going?" I yelled, running after her. She called back to me "Goodbye Doctor, get out of here quickly before he sees you! And thank you!" I slowed and then stopped. Her guardian, he must be waking up. I started to run again, sliding to a stop and starting up the TARDIS as the door closed. In moments I was flying through time and space once more. Perhaps it was time for me to go see Amelia Pond again.

I set in the time period that I thought was right and then walked back towards one of the bedrooms to get it ready for Amy. But then I saw it. In the middle of the corridor was a small red stuffed doll of some creature I didn't recognize. The same doll that Scarlet had been holding. I smiled and put it in the inside pocket of my coat, where my sonic screwdriver was. One day, I'd get it back to that little girl.
Of course just when things were going smoothly, the TARDIS decided that it didn't want to see Amy just yet and lurched, causing me to fall over. I sighed and ran back to the control room.

I stood back from the TARDIS and watched it fade away a smile on my face. "Goodbye Doctor." I whispered to myself. I turned around and looked at Darth Maul as he came running out, an angry scowl on his face. "Why aren't you in bed?" He growled. I looked down "I couldn't sleep." "Inside, now." I glanced back longingly at the place where the Doctor had been but then walked inside.

When I was all settled in my bed I realized that something was missing. "Dia." I said sadly, looking around for my doll. But it was nowhere to be found.
This is a story I wrote about what the Doctor (11) did during The Eleventh Hour when he was gone for 'Five minutes" and ended up being gone 12 years.
